The Arkansas 37th Infantry Regiment, successor to Pleasant's 29th Regiment, was formed in January, 1863. The regiment lost fifty-one percent of the 432 engaged at Helena, then skirmished in some minro actions in Arkansas and Louisiana. It was included in the surrender on June 2, 1865.
