Based on this information it would imply that this regiment had up to 1,000 men. Perhaps this was a home guard unit, as Jackson would have been 44 years old when the war began. There are several instances of Ordnance Guards and Arsenal Guards in the records, so perhaps the "Georgia Artillery Guards" is a designation for one of these units.
