Georgia 27th Infantry Battalion



Historical Notes:
The Georgia 27th Infantry Battalion was organized at Savannah, Georgia, during the summer of 1863 with five companies. It was assigned to McLaw's Division, then J.C. Fiser's Brigade, Department of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The unit participated in the defense of Savannah and in December, 1864, had 447 officers and men present for duty. In the spring of 1865 it fought in North Carolina with the Army of Tennessee and surrendered on April 26. Officers:
