The men of this unit served as Guards for the Atlanta Arsenal, then fought against Sherman in the Georgia and Carolinas Campaign.

Lane, J.M. - Rank in Major. Rank out Major. Also listed as a Private in the GA 7th Cavalry Regiment, Company H, a Private in the GA 12th Militia, a Private in the GA Hardwick Mounted Rifles, and a 1st Sergeant in the GA 40th Infantry Battalion, Company D.
