So you’re trying to understand?
There’s a group with silky hair
A group with curly hair
Others still with kinky hair
Each has his own kind of hair.

But, if everyone had the same hair,
the same skin color,
they would have the same direction
Life wouldn’t be as beautiful as it is.

People wouldn’t have to visit other countries
They would all be the same
The chatter of tourists would pral bwa chat.

Do you see the birds that fly?
They have different feathers
Do you see the trees that dance
when there is a breeze passing through them?
Their leaves are different.

What I see is what you see, too.
Despite all of these differences
We are like each other
We have something that binds us together
We all have only one goal.

Don’t you see?
We all have two eyes
To see what is good and to denounce what is bad
We all have two ears
To hear those who are suffering and those who are carefree.

We all have a brain
To think about what is good for us.
We all have two hands
To work and to take the hands of those who are discouraged on the road to deliverance.

Don’t let selfishness close your eyes.
Don’t let grudges close the door to your heart.
We are all passengers.
We are all in the same boat.
Let’s make a chain of solidarity.
