About Our Organization
My professional career has been primarily involved in computer programming and sales going back to 1978 and the introduction of the first micro-computers. For the past ten years I have been involved full time in writing and publishing books and CD-ROMS on the American Civil War. I have extenisve experience in self-publishing and am the president of Eastern Digital Resources. We have the facilities and equipment for printing, binding and distribution of both hardback and paperback books and CD-ROMS. Our current catalog includes approximately 500 titles relating to the war. Most of these we print on demand.
I had the privilege of going to Haiti in the summer of 2005. When I returned I began looking for materials in Haitian Creole which I could publish. My efforts have focused on three areas:
- Medical Texts
- Educational Materials
- Bible Study Aids
This project of translating and publishing "Where There Is No Dentist" will be our 7th Creole initiative.
We published the following Creole related items in 2005:
- We have sponsored a "Best of Creole 2005 Contest" and published "Kreyol Wowoloy 2005".
- Several dozen first aid / health care brochures.
- A Creole / English dictionary with approx. 17,000 entries.
- A parallel Creole / English Psalms.
- KRENGLE - A CD-ROM with tools and resources for Haiti.
- Istwa Nowèl - The Christmas Story in Creole - Coloring book.
