About The Translation Team
We plan to incorporate a team of about a dozen volunteers to do the majority of the translation work. We currently have contact and verbal commitments from about twenty-five people who can help in various ways.
The following people are helping with this project:
Christine Barnden: - Christing lived and worked for 6+ years in Haiti as an administrator for Literacy training. Now living in Australia, Christine has been the primary translator and consultant for The Best of Creole 2005.
Timothy Carlson, DDS: - Professor of Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Carlson has sponsored several medical trips to Haiti.
Mrs. Lauri Desir: - Quisqueya Christian School, Port Au Prince, Haiti
Marly Desir, DDS: - Dentist in Port Au Prince, Haiti
Yanick Ernest Fulgueira: - Native Haitian now living in Miami. She and her husband have a construction business and she works as a professional translator.
Chris Low - Co-director of The Matènwa Community Learning Center in Maténwa, Lagonave, Haiti.
Rod Mackert, D.M.D., Ph.D. - Professor of Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia. Rod has reviewed the English translation and made recommendations for modification and additions.
Myriam Raber, DDS. - Dentist in Haiti
John Rigdon: Project coordinator and publisher.
David Rigdon: Graphics coordinator.
Emmanuel W. Vedrine - Haitian Creole Editor/Translator
Féquière Vilsaint - Publisher / Owner of Educa-vision. He will help with the final book layout and publishing.
Word Ministries, Inc. - Non profit organization which handles the finances and oversite of the project.
