Hunter's Cavalry Regiment



 


Historical Notes:

    Hunter's Cavalry Regiment was organized during the spring of 1864. It skirmished in various conflicts in Arkansas, sustained 4 casualties at Marks' Mills, then saw action in Price's Missouri Expedition. The regiment returned to Arkansas and disbanded prior to the surrender in June, 1865.
Officers:
    De Witt C. Hunter.
Assignments:
    General Shelby's and Colonel S.D. Jackman's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department.
