1st Volunteers Regiment



 


 ORGANIZATION:

    Early in the war troops for State Service and Volunteer Units were formed. Due to confusion between the names, the first 10 volunteer units formed were renamed the 11th through 20th Regiment.

    The National Archives Index contains 6 names for members of the 1st Volunteers. These names do not appear on the roster of the 1st or 11th Infantry Regiment except as noted.
