HISTORICAL NOTES:

This unit was organized in New Mexico at large November, 1861 and mustered out February, 1862. Its highest ranking officer was Captain Louis W. Leroux and it was Company strength with 126 names on the roster. For some unknown reason the National Archives has a separate roster for this unit, but some of the names also appear as Company A of the 1st Regiment New Mexico Volunteer Militia Infantry. OFFICERS:
