Of special note, this company has 4 members listed on the rolls as colored. Originally Captain George A. Gordon's Company (Phoenix Riflemen), 1st Regiment Ga. Inf.(Olmstead's), April 26, 1862. Enlistment for May 30, 1861 must have been originally in some other command. This company was not organized until August 30, 1861. Was reorganized April 26, 1862 and formed into a battalion of three companies, which subsequently became companies B, F, and K, 63d Regiment Ga. Inf.
