HISTORICAL NOTES:
The following record of the field and staff officers has been compiled
from muster rolls thereof of October 31, and December 31, 1861, April
30, June 30, October 31, and December 31, 1862, February 28, April 30,
June 30, October 31, and December 31, 1863, February 29, June 30, August
31, October 31, and December 31, 1864 (the latter being the last muster
roll available); returns for June, August and September, 1861, April,
May, June, September, October, November and December, 1862; and four
rosters of commissioned officers of the regiment. No muster roll for
1865 appears to have reached Richmond prior to its evacuation. The
official sources of information, therefore, end with the muster roll of
December 31, 1864.
