Three rosters of the 1st Regiment are also available: One prepared the latter part of 1863, one dated August 9, 1864, and a third prepared in October, 1864. From these muster rolls and rosters the following roster of the field and staff of the regiment has been compiled.
Only four of these men were present at the Appomattox surrender. In the biographical sketch of Gen. Hagood, mention is made of surrender of the regiment at Bentonville, NC, so the regiment must have become separated towards the end of the war.
