HISTORICAL NOTES:

This battalion was organized with 5 companies on 22 FEB 1862. Companies F & G organized on 27 MAY 1862. Company H was assigned on 16 OCT 1862.
The Enfield Rifles were surrendered by Gen. Joseph E. Johnston at Durham Station, Orange County, North Carolina on 26 APR 1865.
