22nd Infantry Regiment
HISTORICAL NOTES:
Dr. DeWitt B. Stone is assembling information on Evans Brigade from SC that was in the War Between the States. He has been gathering information on this unit for 10 years and hopes to one day write a history of the Brigade. The 22nd Reg. that was formed of men from the Orangeburg and Lexington area was part of this group and he has been unable to find much information on it. In fact he states that he has less on it than any other regiment belonging to the Brigade. If any of you had ancestors in this outfit and have any old letters or documents that may shed some light on them, I am sure he would appreciate copies to help him put this information together.
