Historical Notes:
Alexander's Company Georgia Cavalry was a local defense unit formed in Troop County. There were actually two organizations by this name. The first was organized 1 August 1862 for six months service as local defense. The second was organized 1 February 1863 for the war. Many of the men who had served in the first unit re-enlisted in the second. Officers:
