Historical Notes:
The Mississippi 2nd Cavalry Battalion was organized at Manassas, Virginia, in October, 1861, with one Alabama and three Mississippi Companies. During January, 1862, it merged into the Jeff. Davis Mississippi Cavalry Legion.
