Historical Sketch:
The 33rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry Militia (Emergency, 1863) was a short-term Union unit raised in response to Confederate General Robert E. Lee's invasion of Pennsylvania. The regiment was formed from men recruited from various counties across Pennsylvania to meet the immediate emergency. Organized at Harrisburg on June 26, 1863, the regiment served in the Department of the Susquehanna and was mustered out on August 4, 1863. It served in the Department of the Susquehanna, playing a crucial logistical, support, and defense role during the Gettysburg Campaign. Officers:
